Step 4: Place the treasure tokens. For this introductory board, select 2 1-point treasure
tokens and 2 2-point tresure tokens. Shuffle the tokens value face down so players do not know the
value of each treasure. Place one treasure token under each depth 1 tile marked with an X.
Here we see that each treasure tile should have one treasure token underneath level 1 only. Normal
water tiles for depths 2, 3 and 4.
Step 5: Place the Ports. Place the color-coded Port tiles where shown at the top and bottom of the map,
with the port arrows pointing toward each other. Place any three leftover tiles beneath each port to
raise them to a depth of 1.
Step 6: Place monsters. Place one Monster token on each of the left- and right-most treasure tiles,
one facing south and one facing north.
Remaining steps: Hand out divers, subs, Reference Cards, and Sub Layout cards to each player.
